I hardly remember painting this piece. What I remember are the discoveries. Layer after layer revealed small treasures hidden beneath the surface. A color that suddenly came alive. A shape that seemed to appear out of nowhere. A fragment that quietly asked for a little more attention. Rather than following a plan, I found myself wandering through the painting, uncovering one surprise after another. Even now, it feels less like something I made and more like something I found.
