Paint & Pondering begins with real places, animals, objects, and moments but rarely stays literal.

Growing up on a farm and later traveling extensively, I developed a deep appreciation for nature, animals, architecture, landscapes, and the small details that often go unnoticed. These experiences continue to influence my work.

Using mixed media, texture, layering, and unexpected perspectives, I create paintings that explore what a subject feels like rather than simply how it looks. A painting might begin with a river, a garden, a bird, a doorway, or a memory, but the finished work often becomes something more personal and expressive.

My goal is to create paintings that invite the viewer to pause, look closer, and discover something familiar in a new way.
