Some of my favorite paintings are the ones I barely remember making. I get so absorbed that I stop thinking about the finished piece and simply respond to what’s happening: a brushstroke, a splatter, a mark made with the end of a brush. Each choice leads to the next, and the painting finds its way. A small studio accident during the painting process resulted in a minor canvas tear. It has been repaired and incorporated into the artwork. The repair is not noticeable from the front during viewing and does not affect the painting’s longevity or display.
